Learn More About Ivontu The 30-Second Pitch Ivontu is a service for automated financial news analysis. In other words, Ivontu reads news and analyzes its effects on stock prices. How Does That Work? It's really simple actually. Imagine, as part of your periodic investing activity, that you track the reports of an analyst for some specific stock, say the classic Acme Industries. Your favorite analyst writes reports that lay out, in excruciating detail, the various factors underlying upcoming changes in the stock price. In all of this, you still haven't been able to understand if the analyst means that Acme will go up like a rocket or down a la the Red Baron. You need help. Enter Ivontu. Ivontu enables you to create news models for most stocks in the S&P 500. These news models can be visualized as brand-new virtual analysts that need to be trained. Training is as simple as feeding news such as the analyst reports mentioned above, or news from other sources such as Bloomberg or the WSJ. Once your model is well-trained, you can use it to analyze the latest news reports and predict its effect on the stock that it is tracking, Acme Industries in this case. How do I know when my model is well-trained? Ivontu calculates, for each model, a Robustness number and an Accuracy number. Accuracy is measured by ex post determining how the model's predictions behave. You cannot push the accuracy up or down, unless you make it a self-fulfilling prophecy by buying/selling in such huge numbers that you automatically move the market. Robustness is a score that measures roughly the quality of the news that you have used to teach the model. It is an ex ante number, though there is a surprisingly good correlation between high robustness numbers and high model accuracy. In effect, you should rely on those models that have higher robustness values.

How do I train a model well? Perhaps the best way to train a model is to provide it with good information at regular intervals, presenting it with a mixture of good and bad news for it to learn. We are currently working on a best practices initiative that outlines how to efficiently utilize Ivontu's modelling efforts. Will using this cost me money? Ivontu is currently in a public alpha testing phase. What this means is that members of the public can sign up for free and use Ivontu as much as they like. We *do* have a monetization plan for Ivontu; however, you may rest assured that there will always be a free version of the service available. There will be missing features and bugs galore; we expect to sort those out as time goes by. However, be warned that during this testing phase, we will be modifying the system to iron out bugs and enhance the user experience. Despite our best efforts, this might lead to models getting deleted in user accounts. At any point in time, Ivontu users can create up to a maximum of 5 models to track stocks. Privacy Details As part of our alpha testing phase, we might contact you via e-mail in order to inform you of scheduled outages, maintenance operations, or other routine matters. However, we will NOT contact you on behalf of third parties, and will NOT release your contact information to such parties. We hate spam as much as you do.
